What Are Your Jeopardy Categories?

The other day, The Better 3/4ths and I were driving to a friend’s house, who just so happens to be a big Jeopardy fan. I jokingly started to list the categories that I thought he’d be the best at… “I’ll take Reggae for 600, Alex.” It was a thought which naturally got turned back on myself and I thought that it would make for an interesting post.

As far as I know, in Jeopardy, there are two rounds with 6 Categories in each that are organized in no particular order. In the second round (“Double Jeopardy“) the questions are worth double the money. In the first group, there is a hidden “Daily Double” assigned to one of the selections in one of the categories that allows the contestant to risk any amount of money they have earned to that point, which will be the amount they win if they get it right.  In the second Double Jeopardy round there are two such Daily Doubles.

So the question is, what categories would most likely give me a chance to kick ass win without any need for studying ahead of time? Mind you, I didn’t give this too much thought, but here are mine:

Round 1:

  • Chess
  • Ambient & New Age Music
  • Meditation & Dharma
  • Procrastination
  • Coffee
  • Polymath [Daily Double]

Round 2 (Double Jeopardy):

  • Art & Photography
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Perfectionism
  • Dante’s Divine Comedy [Daily Double]
  • Open Source
  • Introversion [Daily Double]

So what would be your Jeopardy categories?
